The simple sentence consists of a subject and predicate. The main element in a simple sentence is a finite verb.
Common structures of the simple sentence:
1. VERB

Though these are words, they act like sentences. Here, the subject is implied. This can be identified according to the content and context of the information.
2. VERB + OBJECT

3. SUBJECT + INTRANSITIVE VERB
Examples:
Birds fly.
